KNOX WILKINSON, JR.

Knox, whose full name is Wallace Knox Wilkinson, Jr. was born in 1954. He is a self taught artist and developmentally disabled, but with the help of his loving and supportive family and his "God given talent" he has managed to create his well received art. Knox is best known for highly patterned, vibrant works on paper. Among his best known images are singers, room interiors, fantasy animals, Loretta Lynn and Elvis Presley. His early works were done in black and white and around 1990 he started drawing in color. His works have been shown in a number of exhibitions and it is in the permanent collection of the High Museum of Art
