Richard Wackerman was born in New York in March of 1961.
He has had different jobs but currently is working as a
house painter. Richard has always been drawn to what he
thought of as the purity of painting. He never thought he
had a talent for drawing but began painting in December of
1997. The images that he paints are done with and for pure
joy. They are relaxing to him. Richard loves Satchel Paige,
the Harlem Globetrotters, roller derby and the Bowery Boys.
The blues musicians that he paints are just people that he
admires. He has never painted Elvis.
