Wilfred was born in Charlotte North Carolina in 1960. He
received his BFA at East Carolina university in 1982. in
1985, Wilfred married and moved to New York City to study
painting at Parson School of design. There he earned an MFA
under the tutelage of Paul Resika, Leland Bell and John
Heliker. In addition to the regular faculty, parsons
introduced Wilfred to many visiting artists including Robert
DeNiro, Paul Georges, Wolf Khan, Paul Russoto and David
Leoffler Smith. In 1988, Wilfred moved to San Francisco
where he continued to develop his painting. Wilfred and his
wife Anne, relocated to South Carolina in March of 1998. His
work is shown in galleries in California, North Carolina,
South Carolina and Washington, DC.
