Panhandle Slim is from Sharpstown in North Florida, a small town outside of Blountstown. He has lived all across the country and has traveled just bout every highway and stopped at just about every exit across the U.S. He has had a lot of different experiences in his life. He was a professional skateboarder and said he saw some pretty crazy things during those times. Then he went on to play in a band that toured all over the world. He kind of lost his mind during that period and thought he was a cult leader. His mind is good now. He loves music and he loves painting. They both just calm his nerves and bring him peace. He usually listens to music and paints the folks that he is listening to at that time. That is why he does so many musicians however he does to other subject matter. He has been painting for a long time and friends kept telling him that they were good and that he should sell them. He said he thought "These things ain't much but things I can hang in my garage and look at. He paid them no mind for a long time, but they kept on him. He finally took their advice and one sale led to another sale and that sale led to more. He really enjoys it and it makes him feel good when people are happy with the paintings they buy. Panhandle Slims works are in collections all across the U.S. as well as Japan, Germany, Canada, England, Norway and many other places.
