Self taught artist Julie Schronk grew up in Dallas, TX. She possessed a talent for drawing and painting at an early age so naturally her parents encouraged her creativity. It was not until she moved to a rural area of Texas that she found her way as an artist. Inspired by her surrounds and using only her rich imagination, she paints scenes of bygone days in a primitive or naive style. Her paintings are a celebration of life using bright vivid colors. Inside her paintings you will find crooked country lanes and houses, covered bridges, winding streams and happy folks doing many things ... airing quilts, cutting wood, feeding the chickens, driving a sleigh. 7 of Julie's paintings are in the gallery at Georgia Southern University.
