Juanita Rogers was born near Montgomery, Alabama in 1934. She began making mud sculpture as a child. She used cast-off materials and objects found in her surrounds in rural southern Alabama, where she lived the lst years of her life. She also made drawings based upon what was on television. She has been written about many times and is included in the book Revelations: Alabama's Visionary Folk Artists.
