Theresa has lived in New England all of her life. She has
been married for 36 years and has 2 children and 2
grandchildren. Theresa has been painting ever since she was
a child. She has never been educated in any of the
disciplines of formal painting techniques. It was not until
Theresa was an adult that she began to experiment with
different painting techniques. She began by decorating her
house with painting oil on velvet theorems and primitive
portraits. Then her love of porcelain dolls drew her into
painting them. She began reproducing French porcelain dolls.
Theresa won 1st and 2nd prize awards in 1985 and 1986 in the
Oneonta, NY Seeley world wide doll competitions. Then she
began painting on canvas and wood. She taught herself
decorative painting by reading instructional painting books.
Theresa painted furniture and just about anything that
didn't move! Please with her attempts she began to do
weekend arts and crafts shows with her sister. She began
doing more and more as the years passed and began winning
just about all the First place and Best of Show awards
throughout New England. While her paintings have become
increasingly more sophisticated in her own distinctive style
the subjects, locations and activities are purely her
family, her faith, her country and New England oriented. She
truly enjoys going back to yesteryear when she paints.
Theresa retired from her job as a nursing staff coordinator
in 1995 and has turned her full attention to painting. Her
art is being printed into giclee prints and will be sold on
QVC TV.
