FRANK PICKLE

 

Frank Pickle was born in Berryton, GA in 1933. Now retired, Frank was in the textile business for 24 years. The youngest of seven children, he has been creating art since he was a child. He sculpts fantasy animals out of wood, gourds and electrical cables. They are typically very colorful. He also paints portraits of famous people, especially country music stars he has admired and carves small wooden figures. Recently he has been painting angels and heaven. He has also done some unusual angels out of cow bones. His work is in the permanent collection of the St. James Folk Art Museum.
