Frank is a self-taught artist and musician who is rapidly
achieving recognition throughout the South for his colorful
watercolors of people caught up in everyday life. He
especially likes to paint his "Blue People" who almost
always appear in musical settings or performing. And his
second favorite subject is his creation, "Blackie" a
lonesome cat with pitch forked feet and startled
expressions. Frank claims that his love of music goes well
with his newfound career as an artist. "I like lighting up
somebody's day and I think my art generally does that. I'm a
fairly shy person, but when I see someone looking at one of
my paintings and they get a smile on their face, it gives me
a great sense of joy that we have connected. It's my way of
communicating with people. I have a great deal of internal
creative energy and always liked to draw. Buy I never
thought of myself as an artist. But the more I get into it,
the more excited I've become" Frank has enjoyed one-man
exhibits at galleries in the South --- all of which were
sell outs.
