Willie Jinks was born in Georgia in 1922. He worked for
the Department of Sanitation before his retirement. He would
salvage junk to use to make his art. He paints realistic and
imaginary paintings of everyday life, often on found objects
such as TV's baking trays and doors. Willie was recently
taken to painting on p aper. He also makes whirligigs and
go-cars. Willie's work in in the permanent collection of the
New Orleans Museum of Art.
