FOLK ART

In this section of our website, we have presented a number of contemporary American folk artists. We have divided this group into four categories.

One category represents those artists who are well-established and well known nationally ... their art has appeared in numerous museum exhibitions and has been documented in folk art books and catalogs; some are now deceased. Their art is highly sought after by collectors.

The second category represents emerging artists ... people who are currently doing outstanding work and coming to the forefront of the folk art world. (Many collectors like to purchase work of emerging artists and believe their best art is often done early in their careers.) The artists in this category are all people whom we hold in high regard .. many of these people have also been featured in museum shows and in articles and we expect that they will achieve additional recognition in the future.

The third category represents anonymous artists. Some pieces are totally anonymous where others have been signed by artists that we do not having any information on. Some fantastic works can be found in this section.

The final section is devoted to Southern Folk Pottery.
