A performance artist and poet, Fatisha moved west from New York to be with her family when she discovered she had cancer. It was then that she began creating beautiful paintings on paper depicting life as a black person. Her images often convey strong messages about the plight of black women, although others verge on the romantic. Fatisha's work was included in the exhibit "Memories and Visions Self-Taught and Outsider Artists West of the Rockies". Few pieces of her art exist.
