Brian Dowdall was born in 1948 and grew up in the small
mining town of Anaconda, near the mountains in Montana.
After years of hitchhiking, sleeping in forests in the
country and abandoned buildings in cities, Brian has settled
down. He calls his paintings "animal spirit paintings" and
says that he chooses colors from the sun, moon, fire, earth,
trees, and water. His painted menagerie includes alligators,
armadillos, dogs, cats, elephants, possums, snakes and many
more. He considers animals his true friends.
