KIMBERLY CLAYTON

Recycled folk art is what Kim Clayton does. She grabs scraps of wood, tin and even old hubcaps from around the city where she lives and tries to use it for creating something worth keeping forever. Kim says it is fun and she feels like she is helping the community, not only by cleaning up what most people consider to be useless junk, but also by showing collectors and art lovers just how creative she can be. Her husband and her two children are a huge help when it comes to finding just the right object to paint on. Kim likes to believe that what she is doing with her gift is changing junk to something meaningful and lovely. This she hopes encourages others to allow God into their lives so that their lives can also be meaningful and lovely. Spiritually Kim hopes to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and God's forgiveness through all her pieces. She likes to think of her work as a mission and not just a job. Kim will not stop until there is no more trash to be found.
