Tom's art is how he views he traditions and values of current and past generations. He was born in the mountains of Tennessee and grew up all over the south. Art has always been a part of who he is but it was in the folk art world that he found who he is. He can portray his images and ideas without having to fit into any mold or form. These images are memories and ideas from his past and present. they are how he sees them or remembers them. They are simple and pure works.
