Although almost every famous African American fine artist was originally from the South to achieve national recognition, most of them had to migrate to New York or Chicago to pursue their art career. Nevertheless, there are many, many fine African American artists who continue to paint here in the South ... and their art offers wonderful opportunities to astute collectors.
